1. Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray and WR Marquise Brown vs. Alabama Secondary
In his first and what appears to be his only season starting in college, Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray put on a show. He won the Heisman Trophy amidst a season in which he recorded the second highest passer rating of any quarterback in the PFF College era from a clean pocket (minimum 200 clean dropbacks) at 147.2. He also produced an on-target percentage of 68.8% on downfield throws of 30+yards or more.
It helps that a few of Murray’s downfield throws were to Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, a speed demon who recorded the most YAC (yards after the catch) out of any wideout in the nation in 2018. The lethal QB-WR duo is a pairing that Alabama’s defense has yet to face this season. It’s also worth mentioning that the Tide are allowing 178.1 passing yards per game and are holding opposing QBs to a 108.6 passer rating this season, the 11th lowest mark in the nation.
