2. Alabama WRs Jerry Jeudy and Jalen Waddle vs. Oklahoma CB Tre Brown (Orange Bowl)
Alabama’s offense reached historic levels this season in large part to Tua Tagovailoa’s arrival, but don’t forget the play of two of the Tide’s young receivers. Jerry Jeudy caught 59 passes for 1,103 yards (18.7 yards per catch) and an SEC-leading 12 touchdowns as a sophomore, and true freshman Jaylen Waddle hauled in 74.5% of his passes for 803 yards and averaged 8.6 yards after the catch. Both are huge homerun threats for the Tide.
Oklahoma DB Tre Brown will have his hands full in trying to contain each of them throughout the game. Despite a slow start to his sophomore season, Brown finished on a high note, producing an overall PFF grade of 77.8, the highest of any Sooner defensive players, in Oklahoma’s final two games against West Virginia and Texas.
